General Blood Panel

General Blood Panel

Blood labs help provide the practitioner with a better idea of where you may need to be better supported throughout your protocols, such as optimizing different vitamin levels, systemic inflammation, autoimmune antibodies, etc.

This will often be one of the first tests that our practitioners will order for their clients.

Do you struggle with any of these symptoms?

In chiropractic school, Dr. Jaban faced health challenges at the age of 25, experiencing a rapid physical decline with no apparent cause. Over the next year, he sought answers from various doctors, grappling with fatigue, joint pain, and low testosterone. At a functional medicine conference, he encountered a doctor who suggested Lyme disease as a possible cause. Testing confirmed Dr. Jaban’s positive diagnosis, marking the beginning of his journey to learn about and treat Lyme disease. After consulting with multiple doctors and trying various treatments, he found relief and has remained symptom-free for over 10 years.

"My backstory has helped me to gain a better understanding about how these infections can affect with the body. I work with clients every day who are struggling with similar things as I did. I want to recommend the most effective testing as possible for my clients. A blood lab panel helps me get a good idea of the basic levels in the body and is often my first place to start." - Dr. Jaban

Why Do a Blood Lab Panel?

Our recommended blood lab panel offers a comprehensive insight into your body's functionality.

We'll delve into various markers, including food sensitivities, iron levels, thyroid function, EBV infection, and other common indicators that can point us in the direction of potential infections, toxicities, deficiencies, and inflammation. These markers provide a roadmap, guiding us through the prioritization of necessary actions.

Understanding these fundamental markers is crucial as they pave the way for further investigation before considering more specialized tests. Moreover, these blood labs illuminate how best to support your body during detoxification processes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will I get my requisition to get my blood draw done?

After you fill out your testing form, we will order your blood labs. We cannot order blood labs for international clients other than Canada. If the person getting their blood drawn is under 6 we will order through Vibrant Wellness. If you live in New York, New Jersey, or Rhode Island we will order through Vibrant Wellness. If you live in Canada or Hawaii we would order through Access Medical. For all other cases, we will order through labcorp.

If your labs are through Vibrant Wellness, then they will mail you a blood draw kit and requisition form and you will go to a Vibrant America draw center or see a mobile phlebotomist. If your order is through Labcorp then we will either email you, or if you have a client portal with our office we will send it through the chat.

Can I order this test if I'm not in the US?

We are only able to order blood labs for US or Canadian clients.

> Can my child who is under 6 years old do a blood draw?

If your child is under 6, you will need to check with the labcorp location to make sure they can do a pediatric draw for that age.

Should I stop medications or supplements prior to testing?

Nope! We just recommend that you drink a glass of water 30 minutes before collecting your sample.

Do I need to avoid any specific foods before collecting my sample?

Nope!

Do I need to fast before getting my blood drawn?

Yes, we recommend fasting for 12 hours before getting your blood drawn. That's a water only fast, so no food or supplements during that time.

When will my Blood labs get ordered?

You will receive a testing form to fill out in your email after you place your order. Once you fill that out, we will get your test ordered within 1-2 business days.

What do all of the blood labs values look for?

ANA = Analyzes possible autoimmunity, infections, or medication.
Casein = Analyzes possible lactose intolerance or milk protein allergy.
CBC = A Complete Blood Count (CBC) is a common blood test that provides important information about the components of your blood, including measurements such as white blood cell count, red blood cell count, hemoglobin concentration, hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, platelet count, red cell distribution width, and a differential white blood cell count, which collectively help assess overall health. This is the standard blood test a person would get in the doctor’s office or hospital.
CMP = A Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) is a blood test that provides comprehensive information about various markers including glucose, electrolytes (such as sodium, potassium, and chloride), kidney function (such as blood urea nitrogen and creatinine), liver function (such as albumin, total protein, bilirubin, and liver enzymes), and calcium levels, aiding in the diagnosis of medical conditions related to metabolism, and monitoring of organ function and treatment effects.
hs-CRP = High-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) is a blood test that measures low levels of C-reactive protein, a marker of inflammation, which is used to assess the risk of cardiovascular disease and to monitor inflammation in various conditions.
Vitamin D = A Vitamin D blood test measures the level of vitamin D in the blood.
Epstein-Barr Virus Antibody Panel = An Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) antibody panel is a blood test that detects antibodies produced by the immune system in response to EBV infection. EBV is the virus that triggers mononucleosis, but can cause symptoms years after infection.
Ferritin = A ferritin blood test measures the level of ferritin, a protein that stores iron, in the blood, helping to assess iron levels in the body – iron deficiency or iron overload.
Homocysteine = A homocysteine blood test measures the level of homocysteine, an amino acid, in the blood, aiding in the assessment of cardiovascular health and the diagnosis of conditions such as vitamin B12 or folate deficiency, methylation disorders, and increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
Allergen Gluten IGG = Aids in the assessment of gluten sensitivity or intolerance.
Iron, Total and Iron Binding Capacity = A total iron and total iron-binding capacity (TIBC) blood test measures the levels of iron in the blood and the capacity of transferrin, a protein that carries iron in the bloodstream. This test helps assess iron status, diagnose iron deficiency or iron overload disorders and differentiate between various types of anemia.
Lipid Panel, Standard = A standard lipid panel is a blood test that measures various types of lipids (fats) and cholesterol in the blood, including total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and triglycerides. This test helps assess cardiovascular health, determine the risk of heart disease, etc.
T3, Free = A free triiodothyronine (T3) blood test measures the concentration of unbound or free T3 hormone in the blood, which plays a crucial role in regulating metabolism, energy production, and thyroid function.
T4, Free = A free thyroxine (T4) blood test measures the concentration of unbound or free T4 hormone in the blood, which is essential for regulating metabolism, growth, and energy production in the body.
Thyroglobulin Antibodies = This test helps diagnose autoimmune thyroid disorders such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and Graves' disease.
Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) Antibodies = This test helps diagnose autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and Graves' disease.
TSH = A Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) blood test measures the level of TSH, a hormone produced by the pituitary gland. This test helps assess thyroid function and diagnose thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism and overall thyroid health.
Total Triiodothyronine (T3) = A T3 blood test measures the overall concentration of both bound and unbound T3 hormone in the blood. This test helps assess thyroid function and diagnose hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.
Total Thyroxine (T4) = A T4 blood test measures the overall concentration of both bound and unbound T4 hormone in the blood. This test helps assess thyroid function and diagnose hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.
Reverse Triiodothyronine (rT3) = A rT3 blood test measures the concentration of reverse T3, a less active form of triiodothyronine (T3), in the blood. This test helps evaluate thyroid function, particularly in cases of thyroid hormone metabolism abnormalities, chronic illness, or stress states.
T3 Uptake = A T3 Uptake test measures the extent to which proteins in the blood bind to a synthetic form of triiodothyronine (T3). Despite its name, the T3 Uptake test does not directly measure T3 levels but rather reflects the availability of binding sites for thyroid hormones in the blood.
Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) = The LDH blood test measures levels of the enzyme LDH, found in various tissues. It helps diagnose conditions like heart attack, liver disease, and muscle injury, and monitors disease progression.
